HELLYDA & MENEGHINIS
Hellyda is a gorgeous Brazilian model based in London not only with striking looks but a matching style. She and her business partners created Meneghinis, a unisex shoe brand in 2011 where she is responsible for the women's collection and for the brand's image and marketing. The shoes are inspired by Venetian XVIII century slippers called " Friulane", and are hand made in Italy in the same traditional way. The slippers were traditionally worn by gondoliers and are crafted from fabrics ranging from plush velvets to comfortable cottons and soles made from recycled bicycle tyres.
With Hellyda's experience in fashion as a model, her idea was to make the collection more contemporary by using bright colours and contrasting ones that would accentuate any outfit. We've seen Meneghinis on both men and women at all kinds of occasions from weddings to Burning Man and we just love them, ( particularly because they are super comfortable and easy on the feet which means you can dance longer)!

How often do you design new collections for the brands?
Twice a year
Most interesting place or outfit you have worn or seen your Meneghini's?
I love to see men wearing Meneghinis with a tuxedo. It breaks the seriousness of it but with a touch of coolness.
I remember feeling amazing in a military green pair last summer in Pantelleria, Italy and also last summer wearing a black pair with a vintage Japanese outfit.
Can Meneghinis be customized?
Yes they can, but it takes some time specially during our busy summer months.
