Our mission is simple: to share inspiring narratives. We curate exceptional talents, selecting them solely based on the merit of their work, not fleeting trends. Join us in exploring the uncharted territories of creativity and celebrating the essence of artistry.

ONE PLANET ONE FUTURE

ONE PLANET ONE FUTURE

Anne de Carbuccia is a French American environmental artist and filmmaker, who travels to the world’s most remote locations to document human-caused threats to the planet and preserve the memory of endangered environments, species and cultures.

Her images have been exhibited in museums and public institutions throughout Europe and the United States; and they are also part of several important private collections internationally. Her debut short film, One Ocean, was presented at the 75th Venice International Film Festival in 2018 and at other film festivals around the world in 2019. Anne hopes her art and films will engage diverse generations of people from around the world and promote sustainable behaviors. Anne is currently working on a feature documentary due to come out early 2021.  Thank you Anne for joining us today, ever since I saw your work I felt inspired by your message .

Greatest inspirations or influences?

Nature, Nature & Nature!.... and right now the Darwinian concept that it is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the ones most responsive to change.

How do you see our current situation evolve into a new world, with new  values, new visions?

I believe our new world is already here.

This could be why this pandemic is arriving now and so fast. Our technology has never been this advanced and it is what is keeping us together and connected. Can you imagine what this isolation would have represented a few years back without smart phones and virtual platforms? Now and because of this pandemic we will need to choose which technology and research we want to develop. That will have a huge impact on our future society. Will the new technologies go more towards citizen empowerment, civic responsibility and global unity or will we develop a more totalitarian civilization based on national isolation? Or will it be both, there could be a divide between nations choosing one or the other. Our new reality for the next few years will be very different from anything we have experienced until now. We will have to learn how to cohabitate with the virus. We will also have to decide which information we want to trust. It’s a huge challenge, hopefully it will also become an opportunity

Challenges of what you do?

For the last two years I have been filming my first feature documentary on Adaptation in the Anthropocene, entitled One Planet One Future. I am missing 15% of the footage and, given the current situation, it will certainly be a challenge finishing the film but at the same time this is an opportunity to reflect on the script and the messages the planet is sending us. Another challenge is the educational project of my Foundation. Is is based on my artistic work and focuses on the Anthropocene, resilience and adaptation.

Over the last five years we have worked with many schools who want to expose their students to these themes. We are now rerouting the whole project towards a more virtual experience and we are also trying to figure out how to help students who don’t have access to a computer.

How can each of us do from our part, starting from the basics?

Definitely stay home or make sure to isolate yourself by wearing a mask and gloves when you go out. I really believe that with a strong sense of responsibility towards ourselves and others we can beat this virus but of course this needs to be a community based and collective effort.

It’s about the power of the individual and the strength of the community. Act locally and change the world globally.

If there is one thing you want everyone to know, from all your experiences and adventures?

We live on ONE planet and we can only improve our future together.

Favourite websites, social media handles?

Most interesting reaction to your work so far?

When a 5 year old asked me if my images were in 3D. Best compliment!
