CHANGING FACES IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY

What now feels like a lifetime ago, I was once Director at Wilhelmina in Dubai, and when I got there, the market was saturated with an outdated look and not realistic portrait of fashion and beauty expression that reflects the changes in our humanity. My team and I always aimed to push the beauty boundaries and standards by providing the region with different faces, new standards, and ethnic variety which was much more inclusive than ever seen previously. Well it has been a while since I see a fashion model as exciting and as Sonoko Delon. Today we chat with her to discuss a little about her work and inspirations.

Thanks for joining us Sonoko, tell us about yourself.

I'm Sonoko Delon,

I am Japanese and I am currently based in Tokyo although I am constantly working and traveling to and from Europe as a Fashion Model.

What are your greatest inspirations Sonoko?

I would say that my inspiration is my inner voice.

I hate being bored of myself, instead I want to be constantly excited.

Therefore, I love to create, and find many ways of expressing myself.

What are you looking forward to this year?

This year,,,

I'm excited to go back to Europe!!

Has the pandemic affected you?

To me, it really doesn't matter what effects me to change..

Because i'm the one changing myself and as a result, that changes the situation.

Icons in your opinion?

If i could be the icon to inspire to this world even a bit, that would be a reason for being born!

What does wellbeing mean to you?

I'm always in love..️
